ONLYCH1LD was asked by McDonald’s and their agency, Jack Morton, to produce four unique market stories for their annual shareholders meeting in 2020, showcasing innovations in food and brand across the globe. The project would include original production in four major cities almost simultaneously: Toronto, Munich, Vienna, and Milan. It needed to be prepped, shot, edited, and delivered in under three weeks, and produced while the world was locked down under the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

We said sure.

To authentically capture the essence of each market, we leveraged our rolodex of local production companies, crews and cinematographers who not only represented the local culture but also ensured McDonald’s brand quality was upheld across all locations. 

Given the global restrictions on travel, our core team managed the entire production remotely. Through the use of a little known technology called “Zoom” and hiccupless remote viewing technology direct from set, ONLYCH1LD conducted interviews, created video village environments, and monitored each shoot in real-time, sometimes simultaneously.

We delivered the four films on time, on budget, and on point. We then slept for ten days straight. Nobody wants to put masks on again, or sit in a home office while your project is happening across the world. But if we had to, we could do it!
