SunEdison

At the time they approached us, SunEdison was the largest renewable energy company in the world—developing solar and wind projects across six continents. They came to us with a bold ambition: to reframe the conversation around Sunedison and energy with elegance, confidence, and cultural relevance. They weren’t looking for another corporate film about solar panels—they wanted to spark something bigger.

“ONLYCH1LD brought us a deeply original and strategic concept for our brand films, elevating our story to cultural dialogue and cementing our status as industry thought leaders. They immediately became our go-to video agency, and we never looked back.”
— Gordon Handelsman, CMO

Brand Films

We responded by designing a new kind of brand storytelling—one that placed SunEdison executives in direct conversation with journalists, scientists, futurists, and world leaders. This wasn’t business as usual. The journalistic, dialogue-driven format gave the films depth, believability, and a kind of cultural weight that most brand content never reaches. These weren’t just stories about energy—they were stories about development, equity, infrastructure, and the shifting dynamics of global power.

Filming everywhere from Silicon Valley boardrooms to remote villages in Uttar Pradesh, this series of brand films helped position SunEdison not just as a market leader, but as a vital voice in the global energy conversation. We tailored versions of the films for events, outdoor screens, and digital platforms—keeping the message cohesive across every channel.

Live Events

For a major industry event at Disneyland, we designed an immersive experience using a 36-screen indoor globe to surround attendees with visuals and messaging. We also turned footage from the film series into large-scale outdoor branding, bold on-booth headlines, and playful looping content that made people stop, look, and talk. Whatever the screen or setting, our goal was the same: create something that surprises and sticks.

SunEdison sought to reassure their employees about a transition to new financial software. To address this, ONLYCH1LD introduced a humorous character named Dave Spreadsheet—an endearing, if somewhat outdated, personification of technology who could use a bit more time outside the office. We created several short mockumentary-style films in SunEdison office environments reminiscent of “The Office”. Through this lighthearted approach, we conveyed that sometimes, change is beneficial for everyone, easing concerns and adding a touch of humor to the software transition.

Special Project:

At the personal request of the CEO, ONLYCH1LD developed a full-length children’s show aimed at inspiring young minds about the possibilities of solar power. To bring this vision to life, we enlisted renowned children's show creators, leveraging their expertise to craft an engaging and educational episode. The show was designed for elementary school audiences, spreading awareness and excitement about renewable energy among the next generation.
